The New Jersey Live Steamers, Inc. (NJLS) is a private, 501c7, hobby club of railroad related scale modeling enthusiasts. As a private club, we are not open to the public, and we are are not able to give rides.
The purpose of the club is to bring together people who share a common interest in railroad operation and historically accurate, precision model construction of operating live-steam models of locomotives, rolling stock, and allied equipment. We are amateur hobbyists, committed to historic preservation, while pursuing the hobby we love, thereby enhancing the well-being of our members.
The scales we model are (Gauges & Track length):
Gauge 1: 200' x three loops (1electrified loop);
3½": 700' elevated track;
4¾": 700'elevated track;
4¾": 900' ground track;
7¼": 2330' in twoloops (1080' & 1250')
Anyone having an interest in working hard! to develop and maintain the club layout and facility is encouraged to email us at njlivesteamersATgmailDOTcom Tell us about yourself !! including your interests and experience, how you can help the club grow, and how we may contact you, for the purpose of arranging a potential visit to see our facility, ask questions, and discuss mutual interests with some of our members. Membership does not include rides, and we do not have equipment for you to use. Each member builds or buys, owns and operates his/her own equipment - and obtains his/her own insurance, and is required to sign our liability waiver, which will be provided to you upon arrival. This is a working, hobby club. We are not entertainment. We are not open to the public, and we cannot give rides.
